Sewing Pattern Review: Haven Acres Blouse by Jennuine Design

Hi! It's Linda. Today I'm showing off the Haven Acres Blouse by Jennuine Designs. This is my third Jennuine Designs pattern that I have sewn and I really appreciate Jennifer's attention to detail. Every piece of this went together flawlessly. The instructions are easy to understand and the illustrations enhance the instructions to clarify any difficult steps. A beginning seamstress would be very successful at sewing this blouse.

I love the little keyhole opening on the front of the blouse. It makes for easy dressing. And see those sweet sleeves? I love that they are gathered with elastic.
Options are given for making the blouse long sleeved or short sleeved. I opted for short sleeves so she could layer a denim jacket over the top or a long sleeved layering tee underneath if she wanted. A more experienced seamstress may wish to gather the sleeves and waist by shirring. That note is made in the pattern as well.
This girl is a horse lover so this outfit was her dream come true. As well as the photo shoot. You can see she was just right at home on the back of the horses.

I used a light and drapey gauze fabric. Perfect for layering. I made just one adjustment to the top: I added 3 inches to the bottom of the shirt so it would hit just below her hips. This blouse pairs nicely with a pair of jeans or even the Dressage Leggings also by Jennuine Design.

Have you made this blouse yet? You can purchase it from UpCraft Club. In fact if you are a member of the club, you can choose this blouse with your monthly credit.
