Sewing Pattern Review: the Antalya Dress

Hey everyone! This is Michelle from Falafel and the Bee. So happy to share this next pattern with you. I sewed up the Antalya dress for my younger daughter. I have to tell you that I really enjoyed it!

Rarely does a pattern surprise me with the construction, but this one did! It goes together uniquely, and easily.

The one place I did have trouble was with the exposed zipper. I had never (before this) installed one. I know... shocking! I am an incredibly visual person, and this pattern describes it, but it took me a few times reading it to get it. I did figure it out once I realized how the facing went in.

Other than that, it was really clear and easy to follow. I LOVE the end result with all it's details and sweetness.

Pattern Details:
  • The Antalya dress is available is sizes 12 months through 12 years.
  • This is a confident beginner friendly pattern written by Kid Approved for Willow & Co.
  • Two different back options are included.

I always go by my kids' measurements when sewing for them, and this one is spot on! I really like the fit on my girl. Roomy without being baggy. I sewed up a size 7 for my petite 9 year old.

My daughter loves this dress so much she wore it for Picture Day this week! I'd call that a success.

Dad jumped in the photos.

Being this tween age, it is difficult to find age-appropriate clothing. This pattern fits that bill nicely.
I will definitely be whipping up a few more of these!
