Hi, I'm back again, after a lovely week off during fall break! Right before we left for a family vacation, I made this pair of Sloan Leggings to show you. Are you beginning to see a trend in my posts? I just realised that they are all using Hey June patterns... I really am a big fan of Adrianna's designs, they are basic yet customisable and - not unimportant for a busy mom of three - comfortable. Have you made any yet?
The Sloan Leggings pattern is a sporty leggings pattern. It has options to make it basic or colourblocked. The leggings have a curved waistband and a small pocket to be made in the waistband. The pattern has a bit more shape than most legging patterns and not only come in the usual sizes, but also in different length sizes. Since I'm almost 6ft tall, I made the longest available size and it fits like a glove. Usually those long boots of mine cover quite a bit of exposes legs (or even worse: socks), but this one neatly goes to the top of my foot.
Since I'm not the sporty kind at all, I didn't use any athletic awesome stretchy fabric, but a purple ponte di roma from my stash. You can see that it doesn't have any spandex or other super-stretchy components, the legging does wrinkle a bit in wear, but since I do not intend to wear it to the gym, but more like this, with a long sweater and tall high heeled boots, these wrinkles do give it more of a treggings look, less of a sporty vibe.
Since I won't be wearing it for sport purposes and I am - if possible - a lazy seamstress, I omitted the ingenious pocket. This did make it a super fast pre-holiday sew!
For ages, I have been an all black addict, but of late I have started to wear tiny sparks of colour. A bright hot pink skirt, a bright red top and now a bright purple legging to complement my black basics, don't you think? What's your favourite way to wear colour?
Have you made any of the Hey June patterns yet? I'd love to see what you made! And now that I've almost sewn my way through their entire ladies collection, are there any other brands you can recommend? Please let me know, either in the comments or via social media. I'm - amongst others - on Facebook and Instagram.
