Bow and Arrow Quilt Pattern
Brand Quilts by Catherine
This listing is for a PDF file of the Bow and Arrow Quilt pattern, which will be available for download after purchase.
The pattern includes fabric requirements, cutting directions, and piecing instructions for two size options:
- Baby/Crib/Toddler (42" x 58")
- Throw (63" x 74")
The quilt is pieced together using mainly flying geese blocks. The pattern includes instructions for creating the flying geese blocks using two squares and one rectangle per block. This method allows you to work with directional fabrics and keep them oriented the way they were intended (for example, in the cover quilt the deer heads are not upside down or sideways!). It also allows you to quickly create half-square triangle blocks with your scraps; directions for this optional step are also included. The blocks are slightly oversized and trimmed down for accuracy.
The skill level required for this quilt is confident beginner. You will need to be comfortable with accurate measuring, rotary cutting, and trimming, as well as sewing an accurate 1/4" seam. Since the flying geese columns are staggered, it minimizes the need for matching up several triangle points. This makes the pattern a great entry into working with flying geese. In addition, almost every step includes a color diagram.
Directions for basting, quilting, and binding are not included.
Please see image for fabric requirements. I recommend that you purchase the pattern and read through it before buying fabrics. Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of this pattern.
