130 quilt blocks that all use exactly the same amounts of fabric so it’s easy to mix and match.
This PDF contains everything you need to make a near infinite variety of half square triangle quilts when you mix and match different blocks and different fabrics.
The pattern includes material requirements and instructions to make half square triangle quilts from craft size to king size and is fat quarter, fat eighth, yardage, jelly roll, charm square, and layer cake friendly.
The idea behind the Half and Half quilt is to use only half square triangle units that are half color/print and half white. This makes it really quick and easy to make all of your half square triangle units.
It’s a snap to design new half square triangle quilts following the design principles laid out in this book. Plus, I already have all the calculations done which saves so much time when I need to know how much fabric to buy.
This book also includes lots and lots of options to put your own spin on your quilts. I want to help you understand what changes you can make to the pattern and how to create your own quilts using the Half and Half unit.
This Half and Half Quilt pattern will help you determine how much fabric you need, what size to cut that fabric, and how to assemble your pieces. The “+ eBook” is an extensive block gallery showing you various ways to set the units into numerous unique blocks.
I’ve culled through thousands of classic quilt blocks to select and adapt blocks for the “+ eBook” gallery. The gallery includes 130 of the prettiest block designs you can create with my half and half units and nothing else. They all use the same units and same amount of fabric so it’s easy to pick and choose. It’s also easy to change your mind and keep going with your quilt.
In the spirit of using fabric as efficiently as possible so you’re not spending a lot of money on future scraps, the master pattern is designed so you can quickly cut all of the pieces for your half square triangle blocks from fat quarters with minimal waste. After accounting for selvages on your fat quarters, you can use up to 94% of the fat quarters in your half square triangle units. I’ve also included fabric quantities and cutting instructions for fat eighths, standard yardage, Jelly Rolls, Charm Squares, and Layer Cakes.
